I wanted to give some details about my trip for you all before I head to Tanzania. I leave on January 14, 2009. Sadly, I won't get to see Obama's inauguration, but I know it will be amazing.
Most people have been asking about contacting me and me contacting you. I will have a cell phone over there, and rumor has it texting will be the best way for us to communicate. Funny! I know your laughing at me not with me. I despise texting, but I better get good at it or I will have many an upset family and friend who will be wanting updates.
Thank you to everyone who helped me get this far in the process. I couldn;t have done it without you.
I know this is going to be an inspiring yet challenging experience. I cannot wait!
Go to www.spw-usa.org to read up on the program.

I'm so cool, I'm leaving a comment! Just so you know I actually looked up all that information on your program and hot DAMN does it look awesome! I read some girl's diary about her experiences in it and it just seems like it will be a glorious thing. You better text me at all hours of the day. I want to know about every poop you take.
I hope you can also take lots and lots of pictures. I know you're going with next to nothing, but take a damn camera. I want to see photos you take of everything and people you meet.
Plus, Kyler in a khanga!? Be still, my beating...something.
Yay Kyler! I can't wait to get texts from Africa! You better bring a camera. Good luck!
Poop, text about it, then take a picture of it. You can never be too thorough.
Oh, and this is for you:

You better come back with a mullet.
Dearest! I'm in Dallas, TX and my hipster ways I have come to realize are not an affectation for people here and it's hella nuts. Expect a call from me in the next couple days, we haven't spoken in ages (my fault) and I want to talk to you before you go. The wharf isn't the same without you.
I was trying to leave a comment and the next thing I knew I became a follower and set up my own blog (not what I was trying to do). I can be a blogster or a blogger or a blogist. Plus, now my picture is on your page so you don't forget what I look like. Miss you already!
Khari's comment made me laugh way harder than I probably should have.
Kyler, I hope you have a good journey today? or tomorrow? or yesterday? It was so great to see you at Disney last week, and FYI, I rode that roller coaster again!
I wish you many amazing experiences, and cannot wait to hear about it. I will keep you posted on wedding preparations via email, but do not expect any wedding until around january '10.
Good Luck! Love Elizabeth
I miss you and you haven't even left yet.
Remember, Watch out for rabid giraffes. They will steel your camera and sell it to buy giraffe crack, just like Tusky, only his is cat crack (not as chunky and cut with kitty litter).
I'm in Qatar and left the airport...yeah! already had my first crazy story. We were going to try and see Qatar, but Liz, the girl I left with, couldn't get through because of her passport, but her friend, the one who was supposed to show us around, made a call to Abdul Rahman who has lots of "wasta" which means influence and power in Qatar, got us through customs and we are now enjoying great food, company, and ...Family Guy...I can't figure out how to sign in to the regular thing so I can post like I did before so this is what I could do! Qatar is great and we went to a market called "souq waqif" also know as the old souq and saw shops and people and a guy showing a crowd facebook on a projector...it's absolutely crazy. I leave here tomorrow at 655 my time (8 hours later than you) and head to Tanzania...the adventures have begun!!!!!
Hey there,
How exciting to check your blog and find a new posting! We are happy you made it out of the Doha airport and had your first great adventure! Congrats on already making the important connections - as they say, charm and skill can get your foot in the door, but wasta is what gets it out when it's stuck!
We really enjoyed our time with you and look forward to staying in touch via your blog and the occasional text (good luck with that)!
Love,
UF&AL
